We are very sad to announce the passing of Paul “Bluey” Tierney, who left us peacefully this weekend, surrounded by family, at the age of 76 after a few months of battling ill health.
Paul, along with Garry and Don Charman, were highly regarded as great accountants in the hospitality industry, later being joined by Neil and Peter Johnston to form Charman Tierney and Associates. In 1998 they merged with Mark Barson and Wayne Goodwin to form the Charman Partners it is today, with over 100 years of history.
He is fondly remembered by all of us as being a kind and compassionate accountant, who put client’s interests ahead of his own. He treated his profession with the utmost respect, ensuring he was able to provide the best advice to his clients by staying abreast of all the changes the government and the industry would throw at him. He developed great rapport with clients and staff alike, enjoyed a beer or two with everyone, and was a wonderful influence in the office – an influence still remembered today.
Funeral details will be shared in the next few days. Rest well, Bluey.
