With a little over six months to go, we are reminding all small employers (less than 20 employees) that as of the 1st July 2016, you will need to pay and lodge all employee superannuation contributions via SuperStream.  This does not apply for contributions made to a SMSF from a related party employer.

There are three main ways of dealing with SuperStream:

• Your payroll software
• The ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing House
• Your default fund’s online payment system.

If you have an SMSF and are receiving contributions from a non-related party, then you are going to need to get an electronic service address so your fund can receive contributions from this date.

Larger employers (20+ employees) were expected to have this in place by October 2015.
